Mark and Samantha embracing in early morning light in the Sacred Valley, Peru, after a season of grief and integration.

The Quiet Months

April 27, 202611 min read

It's been a while. I want to say something honest before anything else.

Just over 2 months ago, Samantha and I lost a baby.

And it didn't come alone.

At the same time, I had just launched my book which caused my mother to go to social media with attacks against me. We lost family. We lost friends. I've lost access to my nephews. And under all of it, the grief of Henke's passing surfaced for the first time. Henke was my son. My guardian angel. My dog and best friend who'd been with me since he was eight weeks old in Australia. I never let myself feel his loss properly, but this season made me.

Four different griefs. One season. All of it, at once.

I haven't written. I haven't posted. I haven't checked the book sales or the comments. None of it mattered. Grief has its own timeline and it doesn't ask permission.

I'm not writing this for sympathy. I'm writing it because not naming it would make everything else I say sound hollow — and because Samantha had the courage to speak on it first, which gave me permission to begin to do the same.

If you've lost a child at any stage, in any way — you know there are no clean words for it. The body holds it long after the mind tries to move on. The work I teach doesn't make grief smaller. It just keeps you from disappearing inside it.

That's what these weeks have been. Not disappearing.

The work didn't stop. It went deeper.

In the silence, I've been building the kind of work that doesn't show up on a feed.

Most of what I do publicly is the entry point. The real architecture — the part that holds people through the hardest stretches of the work — happens behind the scenes. And I've spent the past stretch overhauling all of it.

I've integrated AI directly into BE THE ONE, SOULIFY, and SERVE — not to replace the human work, but to hold the integration layer that usually drops people back into old patterns at 11pm when they're alone with their thoughts. The healing happens with humans. The integration is the bit AI can hold beautifully — and I've spent months making sure it does.

The biggest piece of work I'm proud of is what I've built into SERVE — our certified healer and 6-figure legacy business program. It's now fully self-paced, with AI-integrated build-out of your full marketing, sales, and operational team — so you have fast access to launch, and your time is freed up to focus on the skills AI cannot replace: guided healing and coaching via vagal toning, breathwork, somatic release and experiencing, bodywork, fascial release, reflexology, energy healing, and more.

This is the future of what conscious work looks like. Built with intention, not speed.

I'll share more on this soon. There's a lot coming.

A flash sale is coming

Alongside the ecosystem upgrade, I'm running a flash sale on the full course library — DIY, self-paced versions of the work inside our paid programs, with the AI integration built in to hold you through the transformation, whilst getting you deeper and faster results, without compromising the invaluable human and community aspects.

The VIP list and email community get first access — before anything goes public on social media.

You're already on that list. So when it drops, you'll see it here first.

On the latest podcast

The most recent episode is a conversation with Tom Spark. We talk about something I've been sitting with a lot lately:

Most successful men never chose the career they're in.

They inherited it.

A decision got made around six or seven years old — if I do what dad respects, dad will finally see me — and that decision has been quietly running the show ever since. The career, the partner, the goals. None of it as freely chosen as we'd like to believe.

I went into teaching because my father was a teacher. I was 32 years old and still trying to win the approval of a man who already loved me — I just couldn't receive it because I'd never given it to myself first.

The episode goes deep on this. If anything in it lands, you'll know.

From Pain to Purpose — the masterclass

Next week I'm running a free masterclass called From Pain to Purpose — and it's the work I wish someone had handed me at 27, before the cancer, before the breakdown, before I built a life I didn't want and called it success.

"The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why."

Most people never get to the second one.

But we find that together — in 90 minutes.

It's for the men and women who feel like they're carrying something they can't name. The ones who've done the work — therapy, plant medicine, coaching, modalities — and still feel the same wound running underneath everything.

Inside, we go into:

→ Why your purpose isn't a career — it's a calling your soul has been trying to tell you about since childhood
→ The deepest dominant thought running your life on autopilot, and how to identify yours
→ Why most "purpose work" fails (it tries to think its way to clarity instead of feeling its way through)
→ How to stop performing for love, approval, money, success — and start building a life that actually feels like yours
→ The exact framework I use with clients to move from pain to purpose without spending another decade chasing it

It's free. It's potent. And the Life Purpose Document I send to everyone who registers has shifted the trajectory for hundreds of men and women.

The new welcome experience for the community

Since stepping back, I've spent serious time building what most people don't bother with — the back end. The unglamorous work.

I've completely rebuilt the welcome sequence for new Instagram followers. The intention behind it is real connection, not content. The work I do isn't for the casually curious — it's built for the ones who are ready, and the new sequence is designed to find them and hold them properly from day one.

Here's how it works:

The moment someone follows me on Instagram, they get an automated message with a free gift — they choose between three resources designed for the wound they're working with right now:

Anxiety — for the nervous system that won't switch off
Calling in the One — for those ready for real love
Find Your Purpose — for the soul searching for its calling

The next day, they get a personal invitation to the corresponding free masterclass. Different masterclasses run every week — so whichever wound someone's working with, there's an entry point waiting.

This is part of why I'm back online properly now. The system is finally ready to receive new people the way they deserve to be received.

If you've been following me a while and want any of these resources — they're available to you too. Comment the corresponding keyword (ANXIETY, CONNECTION, or PURPOSE) on any recent corresponding Instagram post and I'll send it across.

I'm 100% back behind the wheel

Not just online. Live. In person.

This Saturday, May 2nd, two events at Casa Holistica in Pisac — and they're built to be experienced together. One opens you. The other lets you celebrate what's been opened.

S.A.F.E. INNER CHILD — Saturday 9am–5pm

A one-day workshop to heal what you've been carrying since before you could even speak.

From conception to age 7, you learned what love was — and what love wasn't. And you've been unconsciously living that out in every relationship since. Including the one with yourself.

Every time you've shut down when someone got too close. Every time you've performed for love. Earned it. Chased it. Sabotaged it the moment it got real. Every time you've asked yourself what the fuck is wrong with me, why can't I just let this work

You're not broken. You're loyal. Loyal to a generational template your nervous system built before you had words.

There are two wounds running underneath all of it — your Deepest Dominant Thought ("I'm not worthy of love unless I perform") and your Core Wound ("Love isn't safe"). They're the reason you're tired. The reason your business is successful and your body feels empty. The reason you're still in the relationship that's hollowing you out, or still alone, or still attracting people who can't love you the way you deserve.

And here's what most people don't realise — they were never yours to begin with.

You spent five months in your grandmother's womb. Your mother, as a fetus, already carried every egg she'd ever have — including the one that became you. You are not just carrying your own trauma. You are carrying your lineage's unhealed grief.

And your body has been waiting your whole life for permission to let it go.

This workshop is where that permission is given. Not through talking. Not through analysing your childhood. Not through another book or podcast telling you to love yourself first.

Through the body. Through the nervous system. Through the place the wound actually lives.

We work three pillars across the day — regulating the nervous system (full SOULIFY session included: breathwork, somatics, sound, energy healing, 13-chakra meditation), releasing trapped emotions through our 7-step somatic process, and healing the six inner child wounds at the root: guilt, neglect, abandonment, rejection, injustice, betrayal.

Over £500 in bonuses included — workbook, 365-day inner child journal, and a 1-1 Ultimate Freedom Call with me.

THE ROOTS — Saturday 6pm–10pm

The integration evening. Same venue.

Trysted Soul originally started as an illegal rave in Scotland.

Tryst — two lovers who meet in secret to elope. Think Braveheart. Trust between them. Not telling anyone where. Just showing up committed, present.

That's how we ran Trysted Soul — secret locations, abandoned buildings, warehouses, caves, barns, married to the music. Our friends had to be at a certain place at a certain time for the minibus to take them on their mystery tour. Then we got lost in 12+ hours of music together.

That's where I learned what a dance floor actually means to people. That music has nothing to do with beats, bars, phrases or even frequency. It's about connection.

The Roots is me going back to that.

I DJ'd in Scotland, Ibiza, Qatar, Australia, Bali. Resident at The Arches in Glasgow for years — warming up for Carl Cox, Steve Lawler, Stephan Bodzin, Hernan Cattaneo, Silicon Soul, Oliver Huntemann.

What you'll hear on the night is the music that made me fall in love with DJing in the first place — minimal techno, deep, afro, progressive and classic house. The music that gets you in your body. The music that doesn't need a label to justify it.

This is not an "ecstatic dance." I'm a 90s raver. I'm always ecstatic when I dance.

This is an evening of cacao, music and connection — to simply let go of the pressures of the modern world and reconnect to your true essence.

No performative healing. No spiritual labels. No pressure to move in any particular way to prove you've processed something.

You come exactly as you are. That's how we love you.

6pm — Peruvian cacao ceremony, sourced locally, served with intention. Honouring the land, the culture, your heart space. Guided meditation. Live sound.

From 7pm — three hours of a proper DJ set. Dance however you want. Or don't. Sit on the floor. Close your eyes. Lie down. Move like nobody's watching — because nobody is.

Come for the workshop. Stay for The Roots. Or come for one. Either way, the room is open.

If you're in Peru or willing to travel, this Saturday is the one.

Samantha is building too

Through everything, Samantha has been quietly building her own work.

Her new brand — Inner Arrival — has just launched. She's running monthly live events:

Sound Healing Ceremony and Kriya Yoga.

What she holds is real, lineage-rooted, and a beautiful merge of sound, somatics, therapy and plant medicine — unlike anything else in this space.

If you've been moved by her honesty over these past weeks, follow her work. She's writing the next chapter in her own voice, and it's worth listening to.

The Book

The Meandering Journey Home is still out there, doing its quiet work. I haven't checked the numbers in months. If you've read it, thank you. If you haven't, it's the long version of everything I write here — written as a novel, in the tradition of The Way of the Peaceful Warrior.
