You don't need a reason.
You don't need to be in crisis.
The exhaustion you have been carrying is reason enough.
What do I need?
Comfortable clothing. A blanket. Your temperature may shift during the ceremony. A cushion. A mat. Anything that lets you be properly comfortable for 60 minutes. An eye mask or blindfold deepens the experience. Water beforehand and after. A space where you can lie down undisturbed.
Do I need headphones?
No. Our standard recommendation is no headphones across all our sessions. We don't like the idea of Bluetooth running through your brain mid ceremony, and our ethos is to reduce stimulation, not add to it.
If you really want deeper acoustics, AirPods are your call. But what we recommend instead is this. Set your room up. Tell your flatmates, your partner, your kids, that for the next 60 minutes you are not to be disturbed. That boundary is part of the practice.
Can I fall asleep?
You may. Many people do.
The body receives the sound whether you are conscious or not. If you fall asleep, your body needed the sleep more than the experience. That is not failure. That is the body taking what it needs.
Should I join in if I feel called?
Yes, if you want to. The invitation is open. Move, laugh, cry, sing, chant.
Let it come from the body, not the mind. You don't need a singing voice.
You don't need experience. You just need to let what wants to come, come.
If you prefer to stay silent and simply receive, that is equally right.
What if I don't feel anything?
You may not. And that is equally right. Do not compare sessions. Do not chase a particular experience.
Your only job is to receive. The body receives what the body is ready to receive on the day.
Avoid heavy meals?
Yes. Two to three hours before. The body processes more freely when it is not focused on digestion.
How may I feel after?
Deeply rested. Floaty. Quieter than you have felt in a long time.
For some, the hours after can feel emotional or tender. That is the body integrating.
Drink water. Stay quiet. Let the integration happen. Don't jump straight back onto a screen.
Can I do this if I am pregnant?
Yes. Sound Healing is one of the safest modalities during pregnancy. Just let me know in advance so I can hold you appropriately.
