The hips that won't open no matter how much you stretch.

The chest that closes the moment someone gets too close.

The diaphragm that hasn't taken a full breath in years.

Your body is not making this up.

It is holding the shape of every threat it ever met.

Every braced moment.

Every silenced cry.

Every freeze it had to perform to stay safe.

And the shape stays.

Long after the danger has passed.

Long after you've talked about it in therapy.

Long after you've understood it cognitively.

Because the body doesn't release what the body holds, until the body is met.

This is why somatic work doesn't analyse what happened.

We don't talk about it.

We don't go back into the memory.

We don't try to understand it.

We work directly with the tissue, where the trauma actually lives, and we let the body do what it has been waiting decades to do.

This is not a mobility class.

There are elements of mobility in the work, but mobility is not the point.

The point is release.

We deliberately go into the tissue using manual manipulation and a range of physical therapy tools. Foam rollers. Theracane. Trigger point balls. Resistance bands. Yoga balls.

We work with the fascia, the connective tissue web running through every part of you.

We work with the psoas, the trauma muscle deep in the core.

We work with the diaphragm, where breath has been held tight for decades.

We work with the lymph, where stagnation builds when the body has been frozen.

We work with the TMJ, where the jaw has been clenched for years.

We meet the Mr Men, the emotional characters that live in the tissue.

Body Work and Energy Healing is EVERYTHING!

Trauma posture is real. You can see it on people walking down the street.

The collapsed chest. The forward head.

The hips locked in a brace pattern that has been running since childhood.

The body didn't choose those shapes.

Survival did.

And until you go directly into the tissue with the right tools and the right hands, those shapes don't release. They get smaller. More managed. Better hidden. But they don't go.

Most people leave with a posture, a breath, and a body that no longer feels like it is bracing for a threat that ended years ago.

Energy Healing Does NOT us to be beside each other!

Energy is not local, so you'll get just as much transformation potency in the online transmission as you would in person.

Mums, you know what I'm talking about. You know when something is wrong with your kids. You don't need to be in the same room or the same house, because energy is not confined by geography.

Neither is the healing energy we are transmitting in session.

What is Somatic Release?

1. FASCIA, PSOAS, DIAPHRAGM, LYMPH, TMJ

Direct, hands-on, deliberate work with the specific tissues that hold trauma. We don't work in theory. We work in the body, where it is actually gripping.

2. PHYSICAL THERAPY TOOLS

Foam rollers, Theracane, trigger point balls, resistance bands, yoga balls. This is real release work, not just bodyweight movement. The right tool for the right tissue at the right depth.

3. THE MR MEN

The emotional characters that live in the tissue. Mr Fear in the chest. Mr Shame in the hips. Mr Anger in the jaw. Mr Grief in the diaphragm. We meet each of them where they live, and let them be heard, finally.

4. MEDITATION

We close with a short meditation, bringing you back into the body grounded, with what just moved integrated rather than dumped. You leave regulated. Clear. Genuinely yourself.

FAQ'S

Do I need to be flexible?

No. This is not yoga. We are not stretching for a stretch's sake. We are working with tissue. Opening what has been gripped, releasing what has been held. Whatever range of movement you have is enough.

What equipment do I need?

A foam roller and a trigger point ball or lacrosse ball minimum. If you have a Theracane, resistance bands, or a yoga ball, bring them. If you don't have any of these, message me at [email protected] before the session and I'll show you household alternatives that work.

What else do I need?

A mat or carpet. Comfortable clothes. Water. Somewhere quiet for 60 minutes. A pillow nearby in case something wants to come out loudly.

Do I need headphones?

No. There is too much movement in this session for headphones to stay on. You will be on the floor, on a roller, manipulating tissue, possibly making sound. Headphones will either come off or get in the way.

If you live with other people, set your room up first. Tell your flatmates, your partner, your kids, that for the next 60 minutes you are not to be disturbed. That boundary is part of the practice.

If you really want deeper acoustics, AirPods are your call. We don't recommend Bluetooth running through your brain mid release work, and our ethos is to reduce stimulation, not add to it.

What if I cry, scream, shake, will other people hear me?

Possibly. But not necessarily.

Some people have big releases. Others barely make a sound and something deeper still moves through. You'll experience what your body feels safe to release on the day.

If you're in a shared house, two things help. Tell whoever you live with what you're doing and when. Most people are supportive if you give them a heads up. Keep a pillow beside you. If something wants to come out loudly, scream into it.

The release is not optional work. It is the work. Don't hold it back because of the neighbours. Your nervous system will thank you for letting it come.

How may I feel after?

Lighter. Looser. More in your body than you have been in years.

For some, the hours and days after can feel raw. Emotional. Tender. A bit tired. That is your system integrating what just moved. Drink water. Eat real food. Get outside. Sleep. The integration is the real work.

Can I do this if I have a back injury, chronic pain, or a recent surgery?

Email me before booking. Most somatic work can be modified, and almost nothing in this session requires you to push your body. We are not here to override the body. We are here to listen to it.

Will this be too intense for me?

The whole point of the session is that we go at the speed of your nervous system. Not faster. We establish safety first. We don't go anywhere your body isn't ready to go. The work is potent. It is not aggressive.

Avoid heavy meals?

Yes. Two to three hours before. The body processes more freely when it is not focused on digestion.

What Happens in a Session

You arrive on Zoom.

You settle.

I welcome you in and we ground together.

We establish safety in the body before we go anywhere near the tissue.

Then we move into the fascia. Slow. Deliberate. Working with where you're holding, not against it.

We bring out the tools. Foam roller. Trigger point ball. Whatever the tissue needs.

We open the psoas. We meet the Mr Men where they live. We work the lymph. We release the TMJ. We let the diaphragm take a full breath, maybe for the first time in years.

You may shake. You may sob. You may laugh. You may feel waves of heat or cold move through you.

You may lie completely still and feel something profound shift in tissue you didn't know was holding anything.

Both are exactly right.

We close with a short meditation, bringing you back into the room with what just moved integrated.

Come as you are. That's the only requirement.

This is NOT For You If…

You are under the influence of plant medicines, drugs, or alcohol.

You want a stretch class or a wellness experience. This is way deeper than that.

You have had a recent heart event, detached retina, untreated epilepsy, stroke, aneurysm, or are currently in psychosis or an acute bipolar / schizophrenic episode.

Other potential contraindications include pregnancy, recent surgery, severe respiratory issues, asthma, PTSD and debilitating anxiety.

About Mark

I lived with debilitating anxiety for decades.
